(Check the updated Schedule) On behalf of Hobie Cat Division 5, we would like to extend a welcome to all Hobie and Catamaran sailors, to experience the events of sailing in the beautiful locations throughout the Rocky Mountain region. Hobie Cat Division 5 is a member of the North Americian Hobie Cat Association (NAHCA) for the U.S. Rocky Mountain Region. The Division 5 region includes the states of New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, and the very western part of Nebraska & South Dakota.
Our MissionDivision 5's goal is to promote Hobie Cat sailing within the Rocky Mountain States. The organization promotes common goals between the fleets of the division. It is the liaison organization between the national level association and the local fleets. The division is responsible for managing the regional regatta schedule, support the Division Championship regatta, year-end trophies, sailor movement between class fleets, and a little required paperwork... Organization ProfileDivision 5 sailors are a fun loving group of folks who share an interest in sailing and water recreation. We enjoy helping new members improve their skills as well as challenging the 'old salts' on the water. We tend to have the most fun at slightly organized weekend regattas. Hobie events are for all sailors, racers & non-racers, to come and enjoy a particular lake with their friends and families. A Hobie regatta is a few days of fun in this fast paced world. A typical regatta offers sailing, a dinner with beverages, campfire, and tall tales of a day's sailing adventure. While race regattas do support racing, it's also a social event. Non-racers are welcome at all events. Our summer vacation schedules often allow for an extra day before or after a regatta just to enjoy the locale. Please come and participate in Hobie sailing.
